Why These Were My Favourite Things In August

My favourite things - August 2016

It’s been a light week blogging, as I’ve been on vacation the last ten days, and had set up my last post on Pistol Squats before I left. In August I took the time to relax and enjoy my favourite things, which I’m stoked to share with you. 🙂

My Favourite Clothes

Nova Tank – Cobalt Blue from Gainz Fitness

Nova Tank -Gainz Fitness - my favourite things - august 2016Gainz Fitness kindly sent me this vivid blue workout vest. I absolutely love the snug fit (due to the cotton-elastane combination) — I’ve been avidly wearing it when exercising, and also casually on vacation with a pair of shorts. The vest allows plenty of movement during my more energetic workouts!

In case you were wondering, I’m wearing the Medium size — I’m Small in some of the other tops from Gainz Fitness, so make sure you check the sizing chart before ordering. They ship worldwide and use eco-friendly packaging.

My Favourite Places

Hever Castle & Gardens in Kent, England

Hever Castle - my favourite things - August 2016If you read my post on Easter at Hever Castle, then you’ll know I’m no stranger to visiting—I’ve bought an annual membership since then. The moated castle has over 700 years of history, and is famous for being the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII of England.

With 125 acres of attractive gardens, there’s no shortage of things to do — a kids adventure playground, archery, get drenched in the water maze, visit the military museum and miniature model houses, try your hand at archery, or take a walk or boat around the lake.

There are a number of special events throughout the year — in July and August you could witness spectacular jousting tournaments in an authentic arena, complete with Royal Box. For more information on Hever Castle click here.

My Favourite Food

Zero Noodles — Original

Zero Noodles - my favourite things - august 2016I’ve mostly been spiralizing courgettes to replace spaghetti in some “pasta” meals, but I’ve recently tried Zero Noodles Original.

I was delightfully surprised at how similar these taste to actual noodles! They’re only 4 calories and 0.1g carbohydrate per 100g, so are a great way to reduce the number of calories in a meal. They’re high in natural soluble fibre, sourced from the Konjac Plant. Also suitable for vegetarians, and gluten free.

Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream

Peanut Butter Cup ice cream - my favourite things - august 2016Chocolate, peanut butter and ice cream…my three favourite things all mixed together!! I was introduced to it by one of my neighbours, and have been hooked ever since — darn you Sarah next door! I often eat half a tub during my once a week treat meal. Yummy 🙂

Those were my favourite things in August. I hope you try some of them.
