Chocolate Dessert Recipe | Low Carb

Low carb dessert - chocolate - high protein - Busy Parent Fitness blog

A very high protein, low carb dessert. Only 3 minutes to chocolatey goodness 🙂

When you’re on a diet, it can be HARD to steer clear of all the sugary temptations out there. Thankfully, as protein is the most satiating macronutrient, this low carb dessert can take the edge off cravings. Packed with 37 grams of protein, it would be great to eat after a heavy gym session, to help repair those tired muscles.

FAGE Total Strained Yoghurt

Shhh. One of my little secrets
I get through tubs of this stuff every week.  FAGE Total has a similar nutritional profile to that bodybuilding favourite, cottage cheese, but it has a much smoother texture, and tastes a little sweeter.

It’s Greek, but because it is strained, it has higher protein and is more solid than most other Greek yoghurts — so only use this brand for the recipe. You can buy it in regular, 2% and 0% fat versions. It also contains live yoghurt cultures, so it’s a healthy option.

I quite often enjoy FAGE Total in the evening, with a sprinkling of cinnamon, or with some delicious raspberries. Yummy!!

But, if you need your chocolate fix, then read on.

Low Carb Dessert Recipe

Ingredients

  • 125g FAGE Total 2% Strained yoghurt
  • 30.4g of your favourite Chocolate flavoured sugar-free Whey (don’t substitute with Cassein, as it doesn’t mix well)
  • 3g organic cocoa nibs

You can of course experiment with different flavours of whey, and substitute the cocoa nibs with other ingredients, such as coconut flakes, or flaked almonds.

Directions

This recipe is soooo easy, that I feel embarrassed to write instructions.

  1. Put the Total Fage in a bowl
  2. Add your chocolate flavoured Whey
  3. Mix with a spoon until smooth. Initially it looks as though it is too powdery, but keep going and it will blend to a paste.
  4. Sprinkle the cocoa nibs on top

Enjoy!!!
